PUBLIC NOTICE – WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The Village of Clayton has issued the Notice to Proceed to contractors for the Water System Improvements Project, consisting of rehabilitation of the water treatment plant, painting the water tower, and installation of water mains along Route 12E, Zenda Road, Bartlett Point Road, and James Street (between State Street and Mary Street).
Contractors working on the project are: W.D. Malone Trucking & Excavating, Inc.; Continental Construction, LLC; S.C. Spencer Electric, Inc.; Hyde-Stone Mechanical Contractors, Inc.; and Global Contracting & Painting, Inc.
The project is expected to begin in September and will continue until the weather prevents further work, then will commence again in the spring of 2018. The Village appreciates your patience during this construction as we work to upgrade and enhance the reliability of our water supply infrastructure. SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS – September through June (School Year) – Apply in person at Clayton Village Office, 425 Mary Street, Clayton, NY 13624, or request an application by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. Successful applicants must pass a pre-employment physical prior to commencing work. Regular or substitute positions available. Applications must be received by August 28, 2017.
UPDATE 8/30/17: The Village will accept applications through September 7, 2017.
REQUEST FOR QUOTES
The Village of Clayton is accepting quotes for the following building and roof repairs at Hawn Memorial Library, 210 John Street, Clayton, NY.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Insulate attic with approximately 10 inches of foam insulation or the equivalent to bring the R-value to R-38 or higher.
- Add section of pipe in attic (on existing sewer vent) and exit it through the roof, sealing the roof vent against leakage.
- Remove and replace exterior door. Install door handles and locks on new exterior door and existing interior door with locks to be keyed the same.
- Replace defective fascia boards and reinstall rain gutters accordingly.
All quotes must include prevailing wages for all employees. Insurance certificate must be provided adding the Village of Clayton (owner) as additional insured. Work will require coordination with DPW Superintendent and Library staff to accommodate library hours of operation.
Quotes will be accepted until Friday, September 22, 2017. Quotes must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked “LIBRARY QUOTE”, and may be dropped off at the Village Office, 425 Mary Street, Clayton, NY or mailed to Village of Clayton, Library Quote Bid, PO Box 250, Clayton, NY 13624.
The Village of Clayton reserves the right to reject any and all quotes.
